lots of free parking on south side. .... go by the bar and turn right into parking lot. Or behind bar. Turn right into MacDonalds and come in the back way.
During the week and early in evening older music is played
Yes, ALWAYS
I have worn ripped jeans before and had no problems! Have a good time!
No sorry, they are not
Ranchmans is not open on Tuesdays. We are open Wed to Sat with dance lessons on Wed and Thursday at 7pm and Line dance lessons on fridays at 7pm.

Saturday girls pay $10 men are free. Dress code - no shorts or sandals, pretty much that's it. Jeans and a t-shirt is fine.
Always a treat. Great place for a company event. Especially after work while its quiet.
I came in visiting from Wpg, my lifelong friend brought me here. What a great atmosphere! Was fun watching all the people dance! And boy there were some GREAT dancers! Band was great also. We ended up ordering nachos before we left and was good. The only downside was there was no service for us where we were sitting, waitstaff did not make their way to the end of the tables that faced onto the dance floor. Oh and one more thing, I was NOT going to ride that bull!! lol
Great place to go and dance to dine country music and listen to live bands.
Was there a few weekends a go, Friday night. Lots of scenery.
Awesome time, lots of fun riding the bull
Great drink prices compared to other bars. Good food as well. Go here whenever I am on this end of town.
Not bad place. But not my thing tough, drinks were good though
It was a hot afternoon, we had spent a few hours at the dog park. Wife and I were hungry but we had our little furball with us. Decided to stop here for dinner. It was super awesome our furry friend was allowed on the patio. Food was great (the jalapeno mac and cheese is super awesome!), Beer was cold and they provided water for the Pup. Will totally do it again!
Poor food, bad service!Bar staff were extremely slow at the bar. When i did get served, I bought two drinks totalling 6 dollars, I gave the bar man a 50 dollar note and he tried to give me 10 dollars back as change. When I called him out on it, he clearly got annoyed and then slammed my correct change onto the counter... clearly trying to take advantage of tourists visiting.Despite this, the one star is for the dancing class and the instructor! She was brilliant!
Had a very unpleasant experience there last Saturday, With my GF & Sister .Instead of us dancing & having fun, were treated very rude & told to leave our table after sitting there for a hour already. the table was supposedly reserved, (no sign anywhere stating that!) by waitress -Sherry. After raising my concern over this to her, she was rude & ignorant while speaking with me, Finally she went and had her other staff tell us we had to leave the establishment, Sherry has very poor customer service & communication skills, This situation should have been handled much better! I phoned & emailed the manager with no response, We will not be back again!
Great live entertainment! Atmosphere, people watch, FUN!!
The staff are friendly and helpful. The music was very good. And even being there as a single person was fun.
U can take yr furry friend to chill out on the patio...call before hand. There are some things u need to bring with u...but other than that it's awesome...
Great night for dancing.
Fun cowboy bar. Big, lots of seating, and a good sized dance floor
First time in Calgary and we went to this bar across the street. The country music was good and the detail/ decoration on the walls is incredible. I doubt people read alot of the stuff on the wall but if I had the chance to do so I would. It was, what I would hope to consider --- a picturesk --- image of what a Calgary bar would be like in my mind. The people dancing there -- I dunno if regulars, staff or like regular people? They were incredible though!
1.5 years ago I would have given this bar a 5/5 star review. I used to come yearly for my birthday celebrations and loved it. Used to packed and full of live bands. Now they have a screen bolted to the main stage and play recorded music videos. Barely anyone in line or in the building. It is turning into a ghost town with the new management. They will drive it into the ground and make it non-existent soon. So disappointing since it has been thriving in Calgary as the best country bar around for years. So so sad to see another iconic history Calgary location go twirling down the drains.
Great staff and atmosphere been going here for 30 years
Good music and food
A good night for Dan cing
Haven't been there in years and still great place to party great music food and staff was friendly
I really like this place to learn how to dance and practice what you learn.👍
Very nice place for hanging out, dancing, drink and eat. The food, the music, the staff and the ambiance are excellent ! The mechanical bull is also a very good idea. I enjoyed to be there and to be submerged by the Canadian culture 😁 Thank you 😄
Came across this place during my visit to calgary and was really happy with it. The environment is fun and service was good. The drinks are great. Will definately come back if i visit calgary again.
I was there for a corporate Stampede bullriding event and the staff treated everyone in my party like we were just some geeks off the street. That behavior is to be expected at a regular d-bag night club at midnight but I would have expected more respect at an afternoon/evening corporate event. NO CLASS!
Great service!! (Thanks Dave) and so much fun all around. The band was excellent, everyone is there for a good time, not a long time... So have a good time!!
Had a blast here for the Calgary Firefighter calendar release! First time at Ranchmans and I enjoyed it!
We had a great time there! The staff were great and the music non stop. Lots of dancing and good times for everyone. I would definitely go again!
If you like Country and all the cowboys stuff, you should definitely go there! Or even just for a visit, that's a place to be to experience real Albertan adventure!Hats and boots all over the dance floor, good music in the ears, you're teleported to an other time and space. Just relax and enjoy it!
It's fun but as expected mostly country music. Food is good.My spouse being the Designated driver, even after the wrist band, was charged for soda for each cup. Definitely ask questions prior to ordering.
Great atmosphere and amazing Bull Busting charity event.
Venue is fine, drinks are good. HOWEVER, the management and senior staff are complete and utter garbage! They treat the entertainment horribly, and clearly have no idea what a dance hall is supposed to be. Never again.
A very nice place and a cool atmosphere with live music. Also the food was very good
A classic for Stampede. Fair prices and great music. If you like country music this is a must visit spot while visiting Calgary!
Great place to do some dancing however not as country as it used to be!
It's changed so much. Took friends from out of town and was so disappointed after raving about this place.
Never shovel their sidewalk along MacLeod trail. Should be reported for bylaw infractions.
Nice place but bad services. They don't have real cocktails and the beer is always warm.
Lots of fun BUT seriously management needs to turn down the heat... trying to get people to drink more... it is ridiculous... go in a bikini...
We ended our Canadian tour in Calgary and were keen on experiencing a cowboy bar; unfortunately we thought Ranchman's was the place to go on a Thursday night. We arrived around 10ish and discovered it was not open even though advertised as open. Major disappointment plus huge waste of money for one of our group as we'd had to take an Uber in and out of city. Tried to make contact via both phone and Facebook, this organisation cares zero for potential patrons!
As owner of A laptop shoppe, I enjoyed the dancing the food and the company during stampede
We come to the Saturday afternoon jam and dance to almost every song! Excellent band and singers. If you love county music and dancing, come check it out.
It's a great country bar. Best during the Calgary Stampede.
Personally I'm not big on country, but I still had a great time here. The atmosphere is very fun and lively. Staff members were all very friendly. Also, the drinks were very affordable during happy hour. You can't beat $3 for a rum and cola!
Great place. Unreal dancers on the floor. Loved the bull. Fun fun fun
A really good time. Especially during Stampede but go earl
Wild Western energetic place especially dance nights
You like to country dance? This is the only place in town thats worth going to!
One of my favorite night spots in the city, staff is always friendly and responsive, good food before it turns into a club, and during Stampede they put on one of the absolute best events in the city with their rodeo, it’s always a fantastic time to watch the bulls put on a show with the riders! Next year the bull cage in field is on the to do list.
I really like ranchman's for its atmosphere and it's great stuff working at the front. The bartenders are also so helpful and bubbly.
